Appreciating Flowing Maple Red at Fragrant Hills Park and Feeling Gorgeous Autumn Aura of Ancient Capital—— An Event for Foreign Experts in the Autumn of 2016

As forests began to be brightly tinted, the Fragrant Hills (or Xiangshan) is now growing a blaze of red again. On November 4th, 2016, the Office of International Affairs organized a trip to the Fragrant Hills for foreign experts at Beijing Jiaotong University. The purpose of this trip is to appreciate the red maples and beauty of Beijing’s autumn. Foreign experts, with their families, attended the event.
With the warmth of the autumn afternoon sunshine, foreign experts, grouped in two or three, enjoyed the fancy scenery of green pines and red maples. While walking along the mountain paths, they talked with each other and shared happiness brought about by the splendid views of red leaves. Mingled with compliments in different languages, the joyful cheers and laughter echoed among hills. Besides sightseeing, foreign experts achieved knowledge of Chinese history and studied China’s unique architecture style. By taking advantage of this activity, their understanding about China is deepened and affection towards China is increased.
As one of the annual events organized for foreign experts at Beijing Jiaotong University, the trip to the Fragrant Hills offered a good opportunity for foreign experts to increase communication, develop friendship and diversify spare-time life. In future, the Office of International Affairs will endeavor to create more and better platforms for foreign experts to make exchanges, enabling them sense the attention and care rendered from the University.
