On September 23, 2023, BJTU held the 9th International Cultural Festival with the theme of "Connecting the World", which was held concurrently with BJTU's 127th founding anniversary and the return of alumni activities.

At the opening ceremony of the event, YAN Xuedong, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of BJTU, said that in recent years, BJTU has given full play to its advantages in the field of rail transit, accurately served the construction of transportation infrastructure along the "Belt & Road", cultivated high-level professionals in the railway industry for relevant countries, and established an international talent training brand of "Studying in BJTU" with distinctive transport characteristics.

The Festival attracted international students from 32 countries. They dressed in festive costumes and carefully set up their booths to showcase the unique culture of their homelands. While singing and dancing, the international students brought 12 wonderful ethnic programs to the audience. In addition, in order to improve the interaction and fun of the cultural festival, the event also specially designed such games as stamp collection and check-in, from which participants can have a deeper understanding of the culture of various countries.

It is reported that since its inception in 2006, the BJTU International Cultural Festival has been successfully held for nine sessions, and it has now become a brand campus cultural activity integrating the display of different cultures and the international cooperation and exchanges.
