Delegation Led by President of Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan Visited BJTU

On September 7, 2023, WANG Jiaqiong, Secretary of the Party Committee of BJTU, met with YANG Qingyu, President of Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, and his delegation.

WANG Jiaqiong welcomed the visit by President YANG Qingyu and his delegation. He noted that the exchange and cooperation between the universities serves as a bridge and bond between the two sides across the Taiwan Straits, and since the signing of the academic exchanges and cooperation agreement, the two universities have achieved fruitful results in the exchange of teachers and students and joint scientific research, and he hoped that the two sides will continue to strengthen in-depth exchanges in talent training, scientific research, social services, etc., and promote the cooperation between the two universities to a new height.

YANG Qingyu thanked BJTU for its warm reception, reviewed the history of cooperation with BJTU, and introduced the development course and future planning of National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan. He said that the two sides should further strengthen exchanges, continue to expand the areas of cooperation, and give full play to the disciplinary characteristics of the two universities in carrying out relevant work.

The two universities renewed their agreement on academic exchanges and cooperation, further consolidating the foundation for cooperation.

Following the meeting, the delegation conducted in-depth discussions with the School of Economics and Management and the School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering on discipline development, scientific research cooperation, laboratory construction and other aspects.

The above activities were attended by the responsible personnel of the School of Economics and Management, the School of Mechanical, Electronic and Control Engineering,and the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.
