Dean of Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment of UCL Visits BJTU

On the Afternoon of August 31, 2023, Vice President JING Tao met with Professor Prity Parik, Dean of Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment of UCL, at Siyuan Building.

JING Tao extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation led by Professor Prity Parik. He provided a brief overview of the university's history, strengths in various academic disciplines, and the structure of its faculties. He emphasized the recent international collaborations of the university and highlighted the achievements in contributing to the national rail transportation infrastructure development. He pointed out that University College London (UCL) is a world-renowned institution and expressed the hope that this opportunity would strengthen personnel exchanges and expand collaboration between the two institutions, particularly leveraging the foundation of cooperation with Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment of UCL, ultimately enhancing the university's academic standing.

Dean Prity Parik expressed her gratitude for the warm reception at our university. She praised our university for its recent achievements in talent development and participation in significant national projects, particularly in the field of rail transportation. She noted that this visit had deepened her understanding of our institution and expressed her hope for enhanced personnel exchanges, sharing of work experiences, and mutual efforts to take our collaboration to new heights.

After the meeting, Professor Prity Parik, along with Professor Tim Brodie, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in the UK, delivered an academic lecture for the faculty and students of our School of Systems Science. They engaged in discussions and exchanged ideas with both students and teachers.

Officials from the School of Systems Science and the Office of International Affairs were present at the meeting.
