On May 5th, 2023, Vice President Guan Zhongliang met with the President Karnikov and his delegation from Irkutsk National University of Technology.

Guan Zhongliang extended warm welcome to President Karnikov and his delegation. He reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities, and gave a brief introduction to the university history, disciplinary construction, talent cultivation and international exchanges. He state that with the similarities in terms of teaching and research, disciplinary construction, and internationalization, the two universities can build consensus, outline the future, strengthen cooperation in research as well as students cultivation for the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era.

President Karnikov expressed his gratitude for the warm reception. He highly praised the support and assistance provided by BJTU to Irkutsk National University of Technology during the pandemic. He pointed out that this visit was the first offline meeting after the pandemic and looked forward to continuing to promote in-depth exchanges in joint research, students cultivation etc., to open a new chapter of cooperation between the two universities!
