【背景信息】

第十四届全运会9月15日晚在陕西省西安市隆重开幕。中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平出席开幕式并宣布运动会开幕。

President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, declared the 14th National Games open in Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi province on the evening of Sept 15.

本届全运会共有1.2万余名运动员参加竞技比赛项目，跳水、花样游泳以及艺术体操等部分项目在开幕式之前已经完赛。

    More than 12,000 athletes will compete in this year's Games. Some competitions, like diving, artistic swimming and rhythmic gymnastics, have already concluded before the opening ceremony.

【详细介绍】

中华人民共和国全国运动会，简称“全运会”，是国内水平最高、规模最大的综合性运动会，每四年举办一次。第一届全运会于1959年在北京举办。

第十四届全运会是在中国共产党成立100周年、“十四五”开局之年举办的一届全运盛会，以“全民全运，同心同行”(Games for all, together in mind and action) 为主题。本届全运会共设54个大项595个小项，其中竞技比赛项目设35个大项410个小项。参赛运动员除了来自31个省（区、市）、新疆生产建设兵团、火车头体协、煤矿体协、前卫体协、香港和澳门特别行政区代表团，以及北京体育大学、天津体育学院、俱乐部等参赛单位，还有以个人身份参赛的运动员。
