【背景资料】

格库铁路（Ge'ermu-Ku'erle Railway），是中国境内连接青海省海西蒙古族藏族自治州格尔木市和新疆维吾尔自治区巴音郭楞蒙古自治州首府库尔勒市的国铁Ⅰ级客货共线电气化铁路，是中国西北路网骨架的重要组成部分，被美誉为“大漠新丝路”。

格库铁路于2014年12月28日全线开工建设，于2017年5月26日启动青海段全线铺轨工作，于2017年6月3日启动新疆段铺轨工作，于2020年6月30日，开通运营青海段。格库铁路由格尔木站至库尔勒站，正线全长1213.7千米，其中青海境内505.6千米，新疆境内708.1千米，设计速度120千米/小时

2020年12月9日，历时六年建设的国家重点铁路建设项目——从新疆库尔勒到青海格尔木的格库铁路全线贯通运营。

格库铁路是继兰新铁路、临河至哈密铁路之后，第三条出入新疆的铁路大通道。它全长1206公里，线路穿越塔克拉玛干沙漠、经过阿尔金山无人区、横跨塔里木河，最高海拔差超过2500米，相当于800层楼的高度，如同一架“天梯”连接塔克拉玛干沙漠与青藏高原。
